Low coolant and white gunk in radiator! Anyone else?

What started as a clean the air filter and check coolant level turned in to nightmare on the weekend.
On removing the side panels I found the coolant tank totally empty and then removing the radiator cap found the radiator praticaly empty with white gunk on the cap.
Now this bike has only done 3500km as it has stood some time during periods I have worked away.
I have checked engine oil and that's clear and no coolant mix in that, my gut feeling is the head gasket is buggered and blown or could it be the water pump or something else.
Never seen this before on a bike with such low km and from new owned new ???
    Help please

While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, john and his friend sally both spotted a dalmatian inside a truck with sirens, headed to put out a fire. State what the 2x4 is made of.
